Floor Preparation
When installing wood flooring and resilient vinyl floors direct to the sub-floor, the condition of the sub-floor plays a big part in the performance and appearance of the finished floor. If moisture is allowed to penetrate a wooden floor from below it is possible that the wooden floor will distort, referred to as cupping, or even lift off the sub-floor, rendering the floor useless. Sub-floors should be prepared in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and BS8203.
Christopher James Interiors have many years experience and training in the checking and testing of all types of sub-floor for moisture content, stability and flatness, so that the appropriate floor preparation can be carried out to suit the requirements of the flooring to be fitted. At the time you are choosing your flooring we are happy to carry out a free, no obligation survey to establish whether or not any floor preparation is needed. We will confirm our findings, recommendations and costings in writing for your consideration.
